Compost Tumbler

Compost Tumbler

The other day I was round my friend’s house and she has a compost tumbler in her back garden. At first I wasn’t sure what it was so I had to ask, these compost tumblers are of genius design especially if you’re in the later times in life, no more using a stick to mix around all your compost. The compost tumblers come with an arm on the side which is light and easy to rotate which then rotates your compost inside, just brilliant. At home I have a DIY wooden box that is length 2m, width 1m and the height is 1m, now you could imagine how much of a nightmare that is to mix up in the earlier stages to keep it as fluffy as possible. So in my eyes for a small garden this is a brilliant idea! It can also be tucked away in a corner somewhere not to be seen due to it not being the prettiest sight in the garden.

But it’s not all good the fact of the matter is the compost tumbler aren’t so big so as I said above perfect for a small garden. Me personally I would need like 4-6 of these for it to be effective enough for the size of my garden, I grow anything from lettuce, tomatoes, different types of chilies, basil etc, and the list goes on. And it will also be good to see how long it lasts being outside all year around with compost inside which is technically rotting to get to the compost stage. I have done some research online and read a few reviews and to be honest it’s like 75% good and 25% average, there wasn’t much bad to say about the compost tumbler. But in the end for back breaking and time saving the compost tumbler is perfect for my friend.
